The consultation
What the consultation covers
A conversation and a look under the lamp, 30 minutes on its own or the first half of the first visit. It comes before your first facial and before any series.
Your routine
What you use, in what order and how often. Bring it, or photograph it.
Your skin
Where you break out, when, and what your skin does after you wash it.
What you've tried
What helped, what didn't and what you'd rather not repeat.
What you'd like
A calmer routine, fewer steps, a plan you can keep. Anna says what a facial can and can't do.
The note
Anna writes down what she noted and gives you a copy, so the next visit starts there.
Your questions
Ask anything about the visits, the series or the room, before you decide.
When to see a dermatologist
We'll suggest a dermatologist when
A facial can't do everything, and Anna would rather say so than keep booking you. She will suggest a dermatologist, or your doctor, when:
Breakouts that are deep, painful or lumpy
These sit deeper than a facial reaches, so a facial isn't the right next step.
A mark that lingers, or a scar forming
She'll note it and suggest someone who can look at it properly.
A spot or mole that is changing
Anything that grows, bleeds or changes color goes to a doctor, not a facial.
Skin that is hot, swollen or oozing
Anna will ask you to see a doctor before booking again.
Breakouts that started suddenly
Especially alongside other changes in how you feel, or after a new medicine.
Notes that look the same after six visits
If the series changed nothing she can see, she says so and suggests the next person to ask.
